This reserve was closed since October 2007 when the Witch Fire burned through the area. It reopened April 1, 2008 and I was there with my camera to revel in the regrowth. The wildflowers have never been so abundant here. The fire burned the sage brush and trees back to allow sunlight to hit the riparian area allowing the spring wildflowers to florish.
